Oh no! It's snow!

First snowfall of the year.
Too wet to lay so far. :dry:

Scary notion with a RWD car. :ohmy: Do you think or know what kind of snowfall we're likely to get this year? Heard anything long term yet? Fingers crossed that it won't be anything like last year. I couldn't get to work, even in a FWD car at one point.

Trouble is that snow is big news to the tabloids, so any forecast gets blown out of all proportions to make 'news'.

I remember last month they started going on about it would be -20, giant freeze by the end of November. I must have missed that!

Only thing I know for sure is that my sister is coming over from Indonesia for Christmas, and that always means snow! :bust:

Have to admit, I missed all those -20 temps, even last week in Edinburgh! Having said that though, the weather pro app I have says sleet where we are in Yorkshire, and then only tomorrow during morning and early evening, so we shall see...

Which weather pro app Mal? Win7 is it? I hate that they killed off the apps in a bid to support win8. MS are such monopolists!

there's lots of it around, but not on the east coast here. Its been sunny here for 4 days and is to continue to be so for a while yet....of course lack of cloud leads to other problems.....well itno subzero temps.

Washed the cars yesterday and today the puddles I left behind (around 2 inches deep) were completely frozen in ice all day. I took the F round a twisty road and it behaved fine, even with some localised ice around. Took the gold round the same road, with its winter tyres, and couldn't notice any difference.

which is actually a compliment to the Fs performance, as the golf had much better handling that usual, especially on wet/icy road, so the tyres help I think, but the F performed well with "normal" TR1 all weather tyres

Looking forward to the snow arriving over this coast to try out the snow tyres for real

Weren't they saying that today in the UK it is 23^oC hotter in some places than it was on this day last year

220 mm of snow! that is a lot, we are still around the + 10 deg C mark, its been sunny and dry today with a light biting North East wind, might have to wear a coat :yesnod:
