I'm using more fuel than I expected, but it's not a problem with the car, no, quite the opposite.
I enjoy driving the little thing so much I keep taking the longer scenic route everywhere I go and when nipping out to get a loaf of bread take the longest reasonable route available so I can spend more time grinning like a Cheshire cat :silly:

My wife can't understand why it takes me so long to nip to the shops and back, 'how come it only takes me 20 mins in a 1.2 Corsa and it takes you 40 mins in your MGF? ' :bust:

Anyone else using more fuel than strictly necessary or is it just me?

I know exactly what you mean! I'm always willing to nip to the shop and it always turns out to be a longer route. MGF is currently dead which is very stressful!!!

Ours is not using much fuel at the minute. :nonod:
The Nissan's getting through a lot though! When Sheila started using it the question was 'how do I turn the turbo down?'
Now it's 'How do I turn the turbo up?'

It also is winter tyre shod, but when Sheila's out in it, I have ever shortening fingernails and am in a state of panic every time the phone rings! :pinch:
