My time with the MG6
It is very well equipped, comfortable to drive has a great ride and handles very ell. The engine is responsive, pulls well and is not to bad on fuel
I prefer to drive my TF but that is because I enjoy the type of car that the TF is, however the MG6 is a car I would be very happy to own. If any of you are lucky enough to be looking for a new car in 2012 then please take a test drive and a long hard look at the 6, you will be very impressed. If this is the sort of thing MG have in store for us then we can pat ourselves on the back and look forward to a long association with the Marques :broon:

One of our Epsom club members bought one in May to replace her ZS, has said it is a superb car. A number of our club members were invited to a Drive it day at the Prodrive test track in Warwickshire by MG dealership SMC in Datchett. As a result of this day Pat ordered her MG6 from SMC. All of the people who attended said how nice the car was, and commetted exactly as you have. SMC offered a raffle prize at our Surrey Run in July of an MG6 for a week and guess what!!! out of 200 MG owners there one of the Epsom members won it. I will find his report which was all praising

SURREY RUN 2011 – MG6
Although Painshill Park and Bocketts Farm are only about 6 miles apart, as the crow flies, what a pleasant 75 mile run
this was. All the quiet lanes, picturesque countryside and a good route guide, provided a successful and enjoyable
run. We were able to drive about a 1/3 of the route before the heavens opened and the hood closed. This did not
detract from our appreciation of the run and a good day out.
As West Sussex residents, much of the run was on familiar territory and as such, enabled us to detour a little so as to
have lunch at one of our favourite haunts, The Black Horse at Byworth, (their Sunday roasts and fish and chips are
magnificent!).
At the end of the run, we made a soggy dash to the Café for a welcome cup of tea. Whilst there, Ted came in to tell us
that we had won the draw for a week’s use of a MG6. Sorry Ted, but we thought you were joking, so carried on with
our tea, but your frantic banging on the window got us running! It still was a bit unbelievable even when we were
‘presented’ with the car key for a photo shoot. The presenter was Zack Sumner of SMC cars of Datchet.
Subsequently, we arranged to pick up the car on 6th August for the week and did some 500 miles in it. The car was
the MG6 SE Turbo model, with an up rated K series engine (which is very much more powerful than the one in my
MGZS!) a top rate chassis and suspension. It handles very well, with a smooth, but positive ride and has one of the
biggest boots that I have seen.
There are one or two small design niggles (but what car does not), but it is certainly a good first effort for a sporty
family car and I hope in due course, that any prejudice against this car joining the marque is softened and that the car
is a success.
Thank you Surrey Run and SMC. Geoff and Lynn Trigger
