New Plastic Rear Screen - Great Supplier
Having purchased a Blue Hood with a split rear screen, I removed the rear screen panel, 15 min job, popped it in the post to Rob Green Upholstery and a couple of days later got back my new replacement screen, which I fitted in about 15 mins.
You can either arrange to visit him (Rob Green) and have it done there and then or remove the rear screen section and post it to him. I sent mine Wednesday night and got the screen back Saturday morning.
If you visit him the cost is £60 fitted or £45 by post + £10 P&P
The quality of his work is second to none and I would have no reservation in recommending him.
The colour match on the stitching is so good you cannot tell that it has been touched. Unfortunately this photo does not do it justice. The upper section is the hood and the lower section the bottom of the rear screen.
I did not do a How To as there are many very well written ones out there. If you want to replace the rear screen panel yourself you could follow Rob Bell's guide, click on this link as I did.
Just so you can find this info easily again I have added a review to the REVIEW section here
I chose to go for a plastic rear screen rather than glass as I prefer the look of the car with the original screen.

 I hope not...
No the "roof guru" explained why someone was getting a ripple in their plastic screen and it was down to the quality of the plastic

Hmm, the rear window of every car is allowed to be tinted, now the tints these days are also a security feature, they can be smashed from the inside to out but from the outside they just crack and the tint screen holds all the glass together,so they must be pretty strong. You can also get these tint screens in clear.
If this was applied to the inside of plastic screen of the F/TF would it re-enforce the plastic screen to the extent that it would cut down on the rear screen cracking? Then one day if the screen did crack for whatever reason would it not keep the interior watertight?
Or would it just make the rear screen too rigid to fold?
As the owner of a glass screen alas I can no longer be a guinea pig, but it might be worth a go if someone has an ageing plastic screen..

Having had these tinted films applied to the glass of my previous 4x4 I would say that they would not be suitable for use with the plastic rear screen. The tint would end up with so many bubbles and ripples in it, it would look atrocious.
With regard the thickness / quality of the screen I would say it is ever so very slightly thinner than the OEM but more supple and far less prone to splitting. Please visit Rob Green's website and take a look at the work he does. He is fully booked for refurbishments for months in advance as his work is top notch., this guy knows his business.
