Got used to the lack of power steering and, if there had been a passanger airbag, I wouldn't have been able to fit my bluetooth and ipod adapter plus ipod for my Pioneer AVIC

My wife is happy that I do as she is the passenger in a RHD car on LHD roads so she is on the
head-on impact side of the car!
I have been considering installing EPAS just to get a tilt column as part of the deal.
Back to the subject of this thread...I agree that there is a reason that the rear tire is bald. It would certainly be
worthwhile to check the rear suspension carefully. Worn bushings or ball joints could be causing the problem.
You could find a matching set of part worn tires on E-bay quite cheap. That would be a better solution than buying
one new tire.

A tilting steering wheel must have been a later option because my 1995 MPi has EPAS but it does not tilt..

I understand there are three steering columns
1. Non EPAS
2. the EPAS one fitted to the Fs originally and
3. A later one with EPAS and Tilt, think fitted to the TF
Daz at Pocket Motors in Poole will advise which one his conversion Kit uses ?
I vaguely recall reading somewhere that the very early Fs came out of the factory with a passenger airbag as standard!! then they dropped it and made it an optional extra. :omg:

my car has got good tyres on the fronts a matching set and one new tyre to the rear and a bold one i think they just changed the one rear tyre before, the wear looks nice and even, and the car sits well slightly lower than my old F but i think is because this one has the 16" wheels. im hoping i can match the tread on rear tyres as it seems a shame to change the one rear when its in good nick

It is important that you get exactly the same rear tyre as the rest of the matching set, otherwise the handling will suffer. you did not say what make of tyres were on, but if they are Goodyear Eagle GSD2 ? they have been discontinued but can still be obtained from the MGF Centre in Wolverhampton. Do not fit Goodyear GSD3's they make the car very unstable, bit like driving on ice.
Have you checked all of the other suspension items suggested and what is the wheel bearing like on the side with the bald tyre?
