...or not to mud flap..? that is the question.

Saw a couple of XPG TF's at Bressingham meet few years ago and they looked stunning, but not sure if my TF could work the mud flaps.

Anyone got the mudflaps on a TF/F? What are peoples thoughts?

Paul :drive:

I have took me 18 months to decide !!
They are not OEM but I have modified them myself with matching badges to the wheels front and read badges ..
I like them so that's all that counts

I bought a set of front ones from the MGCC at £50 to protect the sills owing to the Longbidge paint quality resulting in lots of stone chips. The first set lasted about two months and split from speed humps. I complained to the MGCC as my ZT had flaps from new and were always catching on humps and never broke, they always flexed. The MGCC in fairness replaced them free of charge.

The second set lasted all of a day before splitting on one side when I fitted them just before MGLive. I complained to Portland at MGLive and was told I had probably knocked them on a curb because they just don't break like that, Sir! People talk about Chinese quality, at least Chinese flaps would be a lot cheaper than this British made junk.

I will not be wasting my money on this rubbish again. It's a sports car afterall!

Sorry, rant over, but don't waste your money on new ones.

Edit: Forgot to add that even the clips were incorrectly assembled and the screws on some I have heard rusted! Portland also denied that the clips would be assenbled incorrectly.

Might do what Jan has done, that doesn't look too bad considering the purpose flaps don't exactly match the sill profile properly either.

Martin mine are just normal ones with the MG logo on, off ebay, I added the badges ..
Touch wood they have not split or even moved, and I have to very high speed humps on my road..
I bought 4 as I was going to have the front done as well, but due to the fit we decided against and just did the back ..
