With a bit of googling I was able to find a remedy and, a few pictures later, we now have our own guide on this fairly common problem. Here's how to cure it.. First off, remove the central air vent.
That's the hard part out of the way. Now the small black connector going into the clock on the right needs to be removed. I found it was quite tight. A thumb nail either side of the connectors lips accompanied with a backwards push popped it off easily.
I left it off for five minutes so that the clock was fully discharged of any current.
After 5 minutes, reconnect the clock lead.
Reinsert the central vent.
Adjust the clock to the correct time using a pen point.
Now, if anybody out there googles "British owned and run MG enthusiasts forum clock fix!" Or similar.. they should end up right here at the T-Bar.
Later that same day...
'The job's a good un'. :broon:

Posted 12 years 3 months ago #60952Sure.. Here's my idea. Unplug it.. wait until it shows the correct time and then plug it back in. Would that work Ken?Yellow Peril wrote: I will be ever so grateful if you can do the same plan for the Trophy, [mine is not alone]

Me neither Forrester. But it does.
My guess would be a capacitive circuit not discharging correctly: disconnection would allow complete discharge. If this is correct then the problem would gradually reappear.
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
