Lots of ways!
Usual answer is to fit an electric boot release solenoid (about£15 on ebay).
Or you could use a conventional mechanical cable release from another source.

I am still thinking about this install for ours. Met a guy at a car show who was displaying his annoyingly immaculate 05 TF. He had done a really neat install, and reckoned the worst bit was threading the cabling into the cabin. He'd got the bits off fleabay for about 15 quid all in inc secret switch (for security against hood slashing scrotes)

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Yup, I've just done an electric popper fed from the handbrake switch. I'll be taking the lock out soon when the car is resprayed and will run an emergency cable to somewhere behind the drivers seat or hidden in the T Bar.

It's pretty easy to do, you can see my switch just above the ashtray in this pic

As per Johns post, if your switch is visible like mine it needs to be fed from an ignition source and not directly to your battery hence mine to the handbrake switch.

A 'how to' would be helpful on this mod. Great looking interior. :broon:

I just wish to state, for the record, that I am not jealous of that interior. Not at all, in any way shape or form. No sirree. Definitely not.

*sob

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I've had a boot pop kit sitting waiting to be fitted for at least 4 years now!

I've had one for a year myself. It hasn't been the top priority, but I have been giving some thought as to how to a neat job.
I understand that they can be used in "Push Mode" rather than pulling the cable. It looks like there is just enough room inside the mounting bracket for the boot lock to fit the body of the solenoid in there, keeping it out of the way.
Maybe over this winter! :nonod:

BTW: Superb interior Dave! :broon:
