I'm doing away with the key lock all together
Personally I'd fit a 60lbs metal solenoid. Not a plastic one. But they do cost more

I have a solenoid for the same reasons. Once the lock goes I want to be confident it's reliable. I don't think it was that much more though

isnt that hard to be honest ben just need one wire from boot to cock pit to switch then a wire to earth in the boot another wire from switch to live then hey presto

I fitted mine the weekend, no real hassle. Used the ebay one (yes I paid £15) but fitted the Saab release switch as in the 'How to' guide. Works well and looks good, even though it's hidden. I did find I had to ignore the instructions and reverse the blue and green wires though so it pulled instead of pushed.
