I bought some White 9 led 12v 5w bulbs and fitted to one side of car to see the difference...
The led has been fitted to drivers side(right hand) and has made the light looking from the rear look very pink and not as bright as the standard bulbs...

The other problem is that a lot of these leds aren't actually as bright as a standard incandescent.
I now have leds Brake/side lights in the Nissan, but they have something like 12-15 leds on each 'bulb'.
Also the Cree type leds are much brighter. (Look like a little yellow pcb rather than a bulb) This type

at the rear you can have as many orange indicators, red tail lights but only max 2 fog lamps, I think you are restricted to two stop lamps, but LEDs white to the front red/orange to the rear are ok and underneath, [how] could be orange, definitely no BLUE
I haven’t lost my marbles they are in a bag somewhere

So I was wondering: most of the Citroen Saxo's/Vauxhall Novas etc with 1 litre engines, 9 inch tailpipes and 4 megawatt stereos etc driven by the sub-species doleyscrote maccydee drivethru chavvus seem to display blue lamps: is it that they are sold for show use and fitted by them illegally for road use?
Why do I get the feeling that as a (mainly) law abiding road tax paying fully insured mature driver I fitted some, the Plod would be over me like a rash?
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Also......... limited to 2 stop lights????Yellow Peril wrote: you are only allowed to show 2 dipped headlights and two indicators to the front, running lights must go out when headlamps dipped are on,
One on each side + one in the middle last time I looked on our cars !
wot about front fogs: they display when dipped beams are on, and on my standard Jag, which I presume is street legal, the front fogs also operate independently of the dip beam? Also, sidelights remain on both on main and dip beam. So, you can have dip or main, sidelights and foglights on at the same time at the front.
Driving lamps (spotlights) have to be switched to go out on dip as you say.
Jan, I wouldn't like to call the white led's at the grille: I have seen a lot of trucks with these in the rad grille however. Also aforementioned Saxo Scrotes....doesn't mean they are legal however!
