Daz asked for a few pics of how I did my bonnet lifters so thought I'd share them on here for anyone interested

They open the bonnet to same height as the original bar..

The lower end of the strut mounts to the centre hole on the wing.. The kit comes with the fittings needed

The upper mount is a little more tricky... I opted for welding the supplied ball joint to the bonnet hinge.. The hole for the ball joint is already in the hinge.. But fixing it to the hinge is tricky.. So opted to weld it on (ball joint is stainless)

Only real issue is the lower ball joint mount fouls the bonnet when shut.. So had to dress the underside of the bonnet back a little with a ball pen hammer

Will keep this in mind, there's an Alfa Romeo Spider in the scrapyard with gas struts.

If anyone wants a trip to Swindon Im happy weld the ball joints to your bonnet hinges..

Or source spare hinges and post them to me?

Takes 2 mins to weld the bits on

It makes a real difference not having that bar in the way at the front

Would also stop the bonnet dropping on my head when I forget the MGF doesn't have gas struts like my other cars :pinch:

Wouldn't stop me clouting my head on the raised latch when I lean into the open bonnet area though.:nonod:

Damn painful too!:omg:
