After listining to all the experts on how to improve the windscren washers, about a year ago I fitted Citroen jets, without much improvement. During the week I neded to fill the bottle and found a lot of sludge in the container so I cleaned it, then had a look at the pipes and gave them a flush out plus made sure the jets were cleaned WOW now I see what everyone was raving about, brilliant. The screen gets a real spray and the wipers work so much better with all that water. First make sure the water container and pipes are clean, that will improve even the humble standard ones.

Oh yes, good advice!

It's amazing, the number of previously-unknown lifeforms that can grow in washer fluid! Ughh!

Another thing to check if you have trouble with your flow( no-not the old prostate trouble again!) is the non-return valve. It can also get blocked or just fail.

It is the black circular object in the pipes, near the bonnet end.

TBH, I removed mine and binned it. I haven't really noticed the loss!:bye:

The Citroen jets are quite popular now amongest MG owners now! Would also pay to use a concentrated washer solution as that will give good cleaning results, I use one from Halfords in a small bottle, also stops it from freezing.

I ran a solution of warm soapy water through using air presure from a compressor, my daughters partner has one rigged up in their garage, very handy! In fact he is becomming my tame mechanic, dosn't think much of MG's though loves Jeeps, he is also replacing the engine in his 1986 BMW 318i with one from a Toyota Corolla, some twin cam 1.8 liter with about 105kw, more power than the BM engine and cheaper.

probably it's cheaper buying them from ebay, than wasting time runing around in scrappys, they're only £5 - £7
