Has anyone put the alloy clock rings on?

RPM and MPH rings ok, but the temp gauge and the petrol gauge rings seem to stop the needles from moving.

Can I file a little off the red needles? :(

Have you got the rings the right way around? ie the thick part of the ring should be at the back. That's usually when people have problems.
There's no reason you can't shorten the needles though.

I had the same problem. Did find after a while the needles moved ok...

Yeh, rings on right, can i pull the needle out, or are they surcred in? I think i may have to cut a little off the needles. They are very tight.

Looking at the picture it seems the back end is the problem, is that right?
There is usually a bit of play in the shaft and might ease out a touch. Be careful though and only pull evenly, as the shaft/pin is brittle.
Could you loosen the whole gauge and move it left slightly so the back doesn't hit the ring?

Yes, its the back end of the red needle on both. The actual gauges are moulded into the white half, so no movement there. If I push the black half across to the right it frees up the left temp guauge but snags the petrol guage even more. lol. The needles will defo pull out then... :(

A very common issue on some cars they fit ok on others they don't a small file or a dremmel will sort it I would try filing them in situ as David says the shaft is easy to break :oops:

Each small gauge is actually held in with three bolts through the back of the white plastic carcass, it should be possible to loosen the two bolts and move the gauge slightly before tightening up again.

Thats great David. I have filed off the end of the red needle on the temp and petrol guage, but alas the temp needle snapped so i need to get another needle and spindle. If any one has one I could buy that would be great, if not I'll have to buy another gauge.

I have just refitted all back together, just got the battery to reconnect. Blue leds fitted too, so not to bad really. Shouldn't take much to sort out the needle.

The very thin metal shaft that has the pointer on one end, and goes into white plastic . It was the temp gauge one....

Typical isn't it. The blue leds work great and all the other 3 gauges working fine. Even the petrol gauge pointer is ok..
