I took my fuel tank out to inspect the rear bulk head for rust and sound proof the panels
With the tank out I cleaned and rust proofed the entire area, then fitted 'dynamat' type of insulating materials to all surfaces.. Plus both sides of the tank cover panel
So today.. Over a year on.. I silicone sealed around the opening.. And fitted a new membrane over the opening
The cover has been re-fitted with all new 12.9 bolts and locktite.. Plus been torqued up correctly
Every panel on my car has been sound proofed and there is 5 layers between the engine and the seat... Not including the heavy matting that gets fitted to the tank cover..
I'd always aimed to make the car as quiet as possible whilst the hard top is fitted.. To make a luxury GT
I appreciate there is some irony in the fact that with the roof down all the sound proofing in the world is a waste of time

Plan always was to make the car as quiet as possible with the hard top on.. So every panel has been sound proofed.. And the hard top has been done too..
Aiming for Bently quiet,. Lol
