Stainless ABS Bracket
Well, while I am under the bonnet to reroute the airflow I am also on a mission to tidy the paintwork up and derust bits and pieces. I would like to replace as much as I can with stainless or galv parts so that I'm not doing this again for a while.
While I was under the bonnet I noticed that the ABS bracket wasn't looking too happy.
So I bought some stainless steel offcuts from ebay and set about making a new bracket.
I'm pleased with the result. It isn't as perfect as a new bracket, but I didn't have access to guillotines or metal bending equipment, so I had to make do with an angle grinder, pillar drill and for bending, a vice and hammer.
This is the end result:
And it fits.
The area underneath the bracket needs cleaning up and repainting before I fit it. Also I will be moving it closer to the wing as I need to widen the (or move) the spare wheel area to the offside by a couple of inches.

New bracket looks the biz. :yesnod: By the way I think if you stop washing the car in seawater it'll help keep the rust under control.
