Intermittent Heater Fan/Switch
I dont know if its the switches, or something else, but sometimes you can turn on the dial and nothing happens, then randomly you can do it again while on the same journey with no stop, and it works!
Even with the dial off, if you turn up the heater, you can feel a trickle of heat, so heat/cold air is being produced, but it doesnt always want to come out with any great gusto!
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Simon

Posted 11 years 2 months ago #124389Electrically the switch is pretty reliable.
The usual faults are with the resistor pack failing, but that is a fail or work position - not intermittent.

The problem is that they lack rigidity in the shaft.
When you get a new knob you can stiffen it with a couple of layers of heat shrink tubing.

Posted 11 years 2 months ago #124526Do you have a steady 12 volts to the plug on the control box
Possibly a dodgy connection between plug and fan switch.

Posted 11 years 2 months ago #124531My bet would be the connection to the rotary switch or the connection to the resistor pack.
