Hi all, I've not disappeared, just been out :drive: in my TF lots! :drive: :woohoo:

I've been lusting after some Roll Hoops, but I have a glass rear screen in my hood - I think I read somewhere that you can't have both :bang: Can anyone answer this question for me?

Thanks in advance :hugs:

Yes you can have both I think mike satur does hoops that allow the glass wind stop to be used.

Thanks

I have a glass rear screen and Satur Boxter hoops. No problem. The only minor issue is being careful when dropping the integrated glass windstop not scratching the rear window.

Or dropping the hood with the windstop down. Glass on glass interaction- not good!

As the windstop is permanently up in normal use, this is not really an issue.

I'm sure that there is a post from MGFMania hoods that the glass screen will work with the x power hoops(the ones that fit behind the T Bar). CORRECTION Normal zip in glass windows are incompatible with x power hoops. There is a one piece hood with integral glass window that will work with them.

MGFMania CAN supply complete ONE piece hoods, without zip or Velcro. We first produced all hoods 1 piece in 2008 (Like MazMania MX-5 hoods) most people prefer to simply replace the screen section.

Our 1 piece hoods are not fixed to the rear bow, like 2005 MG Rover and ALL SAIC 2008 - 2010 cars, this allows the glass to lay flat behind the X-Power Mk1 Hoops.

Black Mohair one piece hoods are £385 including UK delivery complete with CD Video showing removal of the old hood, fitting the necessary straps, included in the fitting kit and the necessary long black powder coated rivets. To order pay [email protected] by PayPal or call 07778 149632 to order and pay by credit/debit card.

Or supplied & fitted by MGFMania in Knutsford, Cheshire for £475

I have a BAS classic hood with glass screen and Perspex windstop and hoops supplied by a lesser known MGF "specialist" I shall not name as I had to make my own fitting kit.

There is no interaction between screen and hoops in normal use and when accessing the engine cover the glass screen actually slips down the front of the hoops and holds the hood out of the way nicely.

Hi all - just back from a road trip with the TF. Kent to Bradford to Banbury to Swanage to Kent - most of it with the roof down :woowoo:
Managed to call in at Mr Satur's place in Goldthorpe and acquire a set of hoops

More pics have been uploaded to my profile photos.
Also got a Bell crank to help with gearchange - makes such a difference!
The old girl behaved herself impeccably during the trip although did get a bit dirty by the end

You will be pleased to know she is all cleaned up ready for the next trip!

Hi John,

Looking good! Did you spot any more MS must have stuff? How hard is it to fit the bell crank?(or was it a case of pay a man to do it for you?).

Richard, As getting gears was becoming a bit of a hit and miss affair - I got a very nice mate of Mike's to do it for me! ;) Good job, as my particular one didn't fit either the MGF or MGTF pattern! :slapme: Paul helpfully did a bit of welding to make one fit for me :woowoo:
Hope you are well,

John
