That hole is more than a cut so will need a patch, ideally on the inside..

Depending upon where it is one can put a decal of some sort on the outside to hide it once it is water tight.

I have to agree with that totally Lee; Iv'e not had to repair my soft top yet (thankfully) but do quite a bit of wreck diving in a membrane dry suit and have had to repair the suit on various occasions due to getting it caught on the sharp edges of wreckage.

I have used Aquaseal in the past also with good results which I normally keep in my diving kit, but I needed to do an emergency repair between dives on a weekend trip and found that the tube of Aquaseal had gone off.
We found a local camping shop and all the guy had was Stormsure which he said was for mainly repairing tents.

I did exactly the same repair as video clip with the Stormsure hoping it would do as a temp repair until I got home; after 2 summers the temp repair still stands plus a couple of other repairs since using the same repair principle.

Aquasure is good but starts to go hard after a year or so so you don't get the same flexibility in the material as the Stormsure

The only downside is once you have opened the tube after a month or so it goes off (I would have to check the instructions but I think it says once opened keep in the freezer to prevent it going off!)

Anyway I just get the small 2 pack so one is always unopened.

Not sure if too big for my normal repair method but I would apply a strip of Duck tape to the underside and then press the fibres back on to it from the outside. A small hole in my hood was fixed this way 2 years ago and is still watertight.
