anyone know what thread is used on the TF sump plug?
I'm contemplating getting one of these..

I have one fitted to my Defender and it makes oil changes a whole lot simpler.. :yesnod:

Contact at last..
I'm being quoted £48.30 from Femco Drainplug for the plug with magnet, and draintube delivered in the UK..I've suggested a discount would be appreciated!
http://www.drainplug.co.uk/DP%20Specification%20Sheet.pdf

Clive's Dimple drain plug just with magnet is £20.99 delivered in the UK..
http://shop.motorsport-developments.co.uk/m14-x-15-magnetic-oil-sump-drain-plug-343-p.asp

£27 for the extra functionality of the Femco Drainplug seems a tad rich to me...and seems a lot more expensive than when I bought one for the Defender..

I can see the point if it cost a fiver.

Almost 50 quid for a bit of turned and threaded brass? C'mon.... :-?

I've said before, if you want a magnetic plug, get a strong disc magnet and plonk it onto the plug next oil change. However..... the key metallic indicators of it all going horribly wrong are particles of Babbitt (white) metal from mains and big ends. Which are non-ferritic. Lead, tin, antimony etc. i.e. non magnetic.

In my opinion, of course.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
