I fitted the coil packs I ordered. With any other car it is a 15 min job but it took me about an hour.
They look really good quality but what may be inside is another matter.
I was surprised that the ones that came off were Denso as I'm a bit of a fan of their stuff. I expected them to be Lucas.
Anyway they work and I didn't get bitten.

EDIT:   These do Not fit!

As you can see from the pic the plug connector is shorter. The original plug has the spring contact for the plug recessed about 35mm so the rubber sits well over the plug and seats. These have the spring contact nearer the end and sit on top of the plug.
The car started and idled perfectly but last night I was bored and went for a run where it decided to misfire. It is due to the plug contact.
Refitted the originals and all is well.
They are parcelled up and going back.
I really am kicking myself.

Took the fuel tank out today, what a pig of a job.

Don’t  do what I did and attempt this with the passenger seat still in.

Once it’s half out and you realise the seat is in the way, you have to put it most of the way back in, undo the seat fixing bolts, move it forwards and then go again.

I scraped off the old seam sealer at the bottom of the cill and masked up for the seam sealer to cover the welding over the repairs.

Once its dry i will paint over the lot of it.Its not the neatest bit of seam sealer application, but it will be watertight.

Rust protected, seam sealed and painted the floor under the petrol tank.

Masked up and seam sealed where the bulkhead meets the floor, as i replaced most of the return.

Got mine back from it's MOT. Needed lower OSF suspension arm, wipers, rear discs, rear tyres and some magic to get it through the emissions.
All done clean MOT.
Now running two of the Nangkang tyres recommended by MGOC as replacements for the Toyos. All I can say is it does seem to have a spring in its step since...
Now gotta get the Freelanders starter starting reliably. Jeez.

Got the tank back in; don't do what I did and put the tank back in and then try to slot the straps back in, otherwise, you will have to take the tank back out again. Also make sure the straps don't fall out while you are putting the tank in, otherwise, you will have to take it out a second time.

what i thought was going to be a quicky to the MOT (or our equivalent) became an expensive afternoon. The TF was not approved due to a rubbercover around the steeringwheel joint  (is that called a tie-rod-end?) that got ripped, and now i ended up ordering new suspension (spax dampers) and Xpower springs. although this is going to be very cool how do these things happen in my mind

I found the last of the nest, in the panel behind the fuel filler.

With the fuel lines out of the way, the full extent of the nest is exposed. I don't know if it was the scratching of tiny feet or the waste that comes out of the rodents, but the rust is a result of the paint being removed.

The little buggers had also had a go at the wires on the other side.

30 minutes with a rotary wire brush, and some rust converter, and it's starting to look a bit better.

I have bout some Rust-Oleum, Any Surface paint in racing green, so I will be brush-painting the engine bay to make it a uniform colour. It won't win any prizes, but at least it won't rust quite as quickly.
