Fittted the leather interior in to Felix

Well decided yesterday, while Peter (Pgew) was at mine sorting a few bits, to fit the leather interior from Meg in to Felix.

Managed to get all the stuff out of Meg and start to get stuff back. I put a touch of red oxide on the floor as there were a few blisters (amazingly nowhere near as much as I thought would be under the carpet!

He ended up like this:



So today the sun came out (despite it supposed to be raining) so I decided to try and complete the fitting.

By lunchtime it was like this:



Then in went the freshly washed and dried carpet:



Then popped the drivers seat in:



Then had a message that the other half was not gonna be out to dinner as expected so the rest of the fitting was a rush and I forgot to take pictures! I'll take some tomorrow of how it looks now..

Thanks. I just fell in love with the interior when I first saw it. Drove a few hundred miles to pick it up, and loved it ever since - that was years ago so I just couldn't bear to be parted from it when I sell Meg.

I don't really got the clue in all the diiferent colors you seem to mix up... But when finished it'll look fine I think.
The carpets in the light color are they original or are they an aftermarket product?
I'd like to know where I could by them.

Interior colour will all be two tone beige(walnut according to Rover) and cream.

The carpets came from Newton Commercial and are about 6 years old now.

Fitted the walnut steering wheel and leather instrument cowl tonight - had to wait till it was almost dark to be cool enough to work outside!

Then by the time i;d finished it was too dark for a photo!

Promise I'll sort some tomorrow.....

Well the monsoon has finally stopped so here is goes:

Cubby is still missing as I am going to make some alterations to it -


Leather dash surround is back on, plus the instrument beige surround too -


Seats are both back in and all cleaned using my leather sofa cleaning kit -


Polishing the gear ring definitely lifts things. Finally fitted the Mike Satur trinket box I picked up off eBay for a few quid -


I think I am going to get come clear rubber mats or some new beige ones as I never really liked the ones I had. I've still got to do the leather dash cover (although I don't like the design of the ones on eBay - but they do supply the colours I want!). I also fancy getting the fronts of the air vents hydro-dipped in walnut. I also noticed the accelerator pedal looks manky now - so a bit of satin black needed on that!
