CJ wrote: Hi Richard & others for your replies. Does the SS exhaust have a sporty tone or is it purely a straight swap for the original. Have also found a company in Walsall, MIJ Performance and will supply and fit for £300, has anyone heard of or used them?
Thanks
Chris
Chris, sorry to have missed your question here. The MGOC/double S SuperSports exhaust does have a sporty tone - they also do a standard version which sounds close to the OEM. The SuperSports box is smaller than the OEM and does away with the centre strap (as do most sports boxes).

Thank you for your information ........................................ perhaps I caught him on an off day? Will bear this in mind when the time of "Elsie's" new system arrives.

This is my MGOC Super Sports exhaust which costs £299.95 inclusive of VAT but exclusive delivery.
The tail pipes are integral. The warranty is 'lifetime'.
It's been on the car since November 2012. The photos were taken today after 8500 miles of use.
They are made by Double S - link here: http://www.stainlesssteelexhausts.com/classic-cars.html

Now I like the look of that exhaust and it's one I will bear in mind when the time comes to get a new one. "Elsie" is without and exhaust at the moment of course.
Once I sort the drive shaft and inner CV out, replace the drive shaft oil seal, service the gear box, give the rear subframe a clean off and treat we can think about a new exhaust.

Well we shall see how it pans out. Just bought a new set of boots for her so the finance have taken another body blow. Once the new boots are fitted it's alignment time.

Sorry to gate crash but would really like to know more on the super sports exhaust, I am looking to replace the toyo sports on my TF as having just completing a 4 day drive I would like something a little more refined (played havoc with my Tinnitus)
Whilst the toyo sounds nice on shorter drives and great when being pressed hard I'm afraid its not good for me, I still want a sports car sound but something a little softer.

Gerry, where in the world are you? The only real answer is to find someone with the exhaust and have a listen.

I suppose that would be the best thing to do I've already spent 170.00 on the Toyo back box and its only done 1500 miles I really don't want to make the same mistake, still there's always ebay I should be able to recoup some money,by the way I'm located in South Benfleet Essex,
