Fancy colour. Personally i don't like the match with the interior green though (i'd keep it all black inside with the console matching the outside like a vvc has). Great rebuild job done. Wish i had the guts to do so (in I few years i probably need to...)

Evening, can anybody recommend a specialist insurer where i can agree a value on this car, putting this MGF on trade policy or even any other non specialist insurer would result in a couple of hundred pound pay out i fear in the event of a accident and i have decided to take out to a few events this year weather permitting.
Finished all the under bonnet detailing and put the hardtop back on ,fancied a change from the 11 spokes so fitted some brand new 16 inch V spokes.
I had the trophy rear spoiler previously fitted painted also but decided to leave it off.

You've done a first class job Glen :broon:
Popular choice for agreed value insurance is Peter Best [but you do not earn any no claims discount].
Also Lancaster.

Looking good.
What are those bonnet struts from?

Try kit car insurance companies.

Thanks for the comments and Mr F I give them a call Monday.
The gas bonnet struts and brackets was measured up and supplied by me friend the other Glenn at MG MANIA.
Good solution to me catching me head on the OE one I found it comes sharp and easily done when working for a sustained period you forget it's there.

The car is looking superb the wheels are lovely, different too you don't see too many going about with them on. :broon: Great to see the finished article. Does the bonnet struts require any modifications to the bonnet or wings? I was looking at them on The MG Mania website the other day but wanted to look into it further before i get them.

Thanks

Alan

I've recently fitted some of those struts. The look good and are not too bad to fit. They also work as they should but my bonnet now sits high and I'm not so happy with that. I can't work out how to solve that. If I can't then they may have to come off. I wonder if anybody has had this problem before?

Looks brilliant Glenn!

I'd also give Peter Best a recommendation and I found him a lot cheaper than Lancaster and any of the big high street names.

With any classic car insurance you don't accrue a no-claims bonus and you generally have a fairly low annual mileage limit (I have 5000 miles which is more than enough for me). Peter Best offers 'agreed value' at no extra cost and the procedure is to send Peter (yes he really exists) some photos of the car plus a list of all the work that has been done together with your suggested value and he assesses it and agrees (or possibly not). His classic car policies are normally underwritten by Hiscox. He offers discounts to members of club (plus he offers MGCC members a special policy). More details here: http://www.peterbestinsurance.co.uk/ which includes a link to an article on the differences between classic & regualr car insurance.
