Inlet manifold jiggle valve. was created by mgtftone

 Hello to all MGF/TF fans hope you are all well. First time on here and wandering if someone may help me. Looking forward to chatting with you and not always with problems.
Following a HGF repair on my MGTF VVC 160 I was told by the mechanic that he had removed the inlet manifold jiggle valve. When asked why, he said that is what they do????
2000 miles on the car is running ok. I have noticed that the temp gauge goes to normal after about 1 mile, though the heater does not get warm until 3 miles. Once hot the heater stays hot (while set to hot) with no fluctuations. This situation is always the same on start of a run. I bled the coolant system several times at the three points I am aware of.
I had read this situation may because the jiggle valve has been removed!!!
Can anyone please advise me if I can refit the valve, or get an inline one. Or have I got another issue.

I wouldn't worry, it all sounds pretty normal, heating wise.

The jiggle valve is to allow only air to escape from the head waterways then close to stop water exiting the small pipe. This valve can sometimes become blocked and so air can hang around the head.(not good) Removing the ball from the valve just prevents this problem from raising its ugly head. I wouldn't expect any problems
( or noticeable difference) with it removed.

MMMMM  Red face here. Sorry I am trying to reply to you all individually thanking you for your kind greetings :woohoo: and information/advice. Sadly I am still getting to grips with the forum, hey ho will master it. Can not be as difficult as trying to work out as to what happens on a MG TF. :nonod:
Regards (will try harder) Tony.

Hi Tony,

Both of our MGFs have had the ball in the jiggle valve removed by a previous owner and the cars both seem to operate well.

Hello Mark. Nice looking car!
Thank you for your reply. It would appear I am worrying unnecessarily. But after the HGF I have become twitchy.
Do your MGF's takes three miles for the heater to warm to?

Regards Tony.
