As you say, it'll be interesting to see how I get on with the Taylor exhaust. However, after 24 years of marriage I'm used to a persistent drone when driving.
My motorcycle is now a single seater for the same reason!
Hope you enjoy the Eos. Roll on the summer and some sunshine.

Toyo proxes are fine provided they are Japanese all round or Malaysian all round - mix the 2 up in anyway and it's horrible!

What's not true? Are you saying that you can mix Japanese & Malaysian made tyres?

I have had a 2004 TF with 16" wheels on the standard suspension set up and found that the car wandered a bit from time to time for me i noticed it more when applying the brakes to begin with. however i have an anniversary TF now which i'm sure is fitted with the comfort suspension as the ride in this is completely different much more compliant and very comfortable and that is with running the 16" wheels the car never wanders and feels very planted. The tyres i have is the early Toyo T1r's on the front and Goodyear GSD2's on the back i run the tyre pressures stated in the hand book. Have a look at VHS solutions they do modified bottom arms that correct the camber and caster on TF which should help with a fidgety ride/pulling and general wheel alignment. Might even be worth a phone call to them as they are very experienced on these cars.

I have had a wee look on the net about the Toyo's and there are some conflicting reports some folk have said they have mixed the Toyo's with old and new and found they are fine where as others have said the car was undriveable. Toyo's official line is that you should not fit old on the front and new on the back. If you do end up with a mix of Toyo's they say the best way to do it is have the new on the front and the old on the rear as this will be less noticeable. If it were me i think i would avoid it and get a matching set rather than having the mix.

When I got 4 new T1Rs 2 were Japanese and the other 2 Malaysian but the same compound is used in both after 2014

Thanks for the clarification. The advice from the MGOC is that the Japanese spec changed in September 2014 to match the Malaysian spec and that mixing the specs is not a good idea. So Malaysian allround, no problem (spec was not changed), Japanese allround all from before September 2014, no problem too or indeed allround from after September 2014 no problem either. The problem comes mixing Malayasian tyres with pre- September 2014 Japanese ones or indeed mixing pre-September 2014 Japanese tyres with post September 2014 Japanese tyres.

I should add to my post above that it's the week & year of manufacture that's imprinted on the sidewall, not the month and while September 2014 is the critical date for the Japanese tyres, I haven't been able to find out a more precise dates so I suggest anything marked 3514 to 4014 needs to be viewed with some suspicion.

Thank you to everyone who sent me thoughts and suggestions on handling and steering.

I've now got to the bottom of the problem...

1. My expensive but old tyre pressure gauge is now in the bin! Using a professional set up, I found that whilst I had 26 in the fronts ok, the rears were 30 and 32 v. the 36 everyone recommended.

2. The 2 o/s engine mounting bolts were loose. Looks like the garage that did Roxy's timing belts last year didn't torque them up and they'd worked loose enough for the engine mounting to drop 30-35mm or so. It wasn't till I gave her engine bay a really good clean and shone a powerful lamp at the mounting that the gap could be seen. (Old eyes are no fun!)

Anyway, with tyre pressures correct and the engine mounts firmly torqued, I now have a completely transformed car.

Thank you again everyone....
