Hi Andy,
Did you start the engine before turning the tank upside down to activate the reed switch?
It will take about 30 secs before the light will activate.

If there is no sensor I wouldn't be surprised if there is no bulb.

Shine a torch under the dash behind the speedo, if there is no bulb you may get light showing through the hole.

Bridge the contacts in the plug to simulate activation of the sensor.

Popping the speedo out is only undoing a few screws.

That's a good tip to shine a light behind the speedo.
The next question is....what are the few screws that need undoing?

Hi David & Bruce TF135, no I didn't but after I tried again today with the bottle sensor wire connected but empty and then turned the ignition on, the light came on and stayed on, on the dash which is great. I then turned the bottle upside down to simulate full and the light went off after a few seconds.
So all I need to do now is swap the bottles over and I am sorted. Can stop worrying about damaging the engine if I get a coolant leak.
Thank-you for your help.

Resurrecting an old thread.

I have found this mystery plug on my TF, does anyone know if it is the Low Coolant Sensor connection mentioned in the thread?

Which car and what year do you have?
If it is a TF there should be a valve on the O/S tail pipe to open and close the tail pipe, I suspect this plug is for the control unit for the valve.

Only late TF had the low level alarm wiring.

It’s a 2003 TF 135. The tail pipes/silencer are aftermarket, so there is no connection on there.
