Silicone Hoses

IIRC the coolant hoses are in reasonable condition but I was wondering if it is worth going silicone.
Roose do a kit but it is a serious investment, up to £250 for a MPi and £330 for a VVC.
You also then need the kit to replace the two hoses at the front for the best part of £150.
Is it worth it?

I have a vvc but the chap selling the hoses had a 18i so some didn't fit

Unless you have lots of spare cash. Or unless you have an expensive build engine.

But OEM won't be cheap for a full set either.

In my humble opinion, it's 'yer pays yer money and yer makes yer choice'. They sure do look purdy, reds, blues, greens etc, but you can't see much of 'em on our cars. Personally, if I was re-hosing, (and I'm actively considering it as a preventative measure due to our cars age, 11) I'd go OEM.
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
