Fitting Parking Sensors - MGTF
Just purchased a set of parking sensors to be fitted to my 2004 TF . I have read all the past posts on fitting these kits, but not have found any post with definite location dimensions for the 4 sensors.
If one of you guys have fitted the rear 4 kit sensors, can you please supply the dimensions you used to cut the holes. Taking them from a common point on the bumper.
I am OK with the height of the sensors which I plan to mount at approx. 500mm from floor levek
I do not wish to hit anything that may be lurking behind the bumper!
Regards and thanks in advance.

It may help to give you some idea where you could put them.
They do work well and and I looked at many pictures of sensors in TF's to try and work out the best position for them.
I took my bumper off to fit them and ended up opening up a can of worms.
Had to replace the upper brackets that fit the top of the bumper into the boot and had to replace the crash cans as these were rotted away.
It also gave me a chance to treat some rust on the rear panel behind the bumper and I also fitted a reversing camera which is linked into my ICE head unit.
The camera is superb and even works in low light, enhancing the rear view in the dark.
Hope this helps...

Rear visibility, especially with a glass rear screen in the soft top, is not brilliant.
Also it helps in tight spots like the one I park in.

I concur with Mr TC the glass screen reduces your peripheral rear vision, although its a lot clearer than the plastic screen.
Throw in roll hoops and a tinted windstop and the rear window is only good for checking what's driving behind you on the road and is no good for when backing up into tight places.
I really think the reversing sensors are one of the best things I have put on the car, and if they stop me hitting another vehicle or even a person, they are worth the trouble....and at 15 quid a set, its a no brainer for me - and they are so easy to fit!
The camera is good to as it gives me a clearer view in dimly lit areas, like night vision, but I would say the sensors are the better of the two.
I also put some in Mrs Sundance's car, a Renault Wind which has little rear vision, after she backed into my TF and damaged my front bumper....a £100 repair at the bodyshop!
Anything that can reduce risk surely must be a good idea!

TC is right about marks inside the bumper. Dunno about the MG but my Vito has them (haven't fitted sensors to it though).
