Exhaust heat shield screw
Just returned from a 5 week road trip around Spain, the f was fantastic and covered about 3000 Miles.
Got home and noticed the left hand tail pipe had dropped and burnt off an area of paint on the bumper!
Looks as if the left hand side mounting rubber has given up, not a problem, they are readily available. However, I need to remove the blob of rust which used to be the heat shield screws, these screw into a bracket, again readily available. I need to remove the heat shield to access the other screws which hold the mounting rubbers.
Now the screws that screw into this bracket are part number, DYP10015. Bolt washer. But I cannot find the size of these, anybody got an idea?
Cheers
David

Good luck with the captive nuts, they like to let go and cause your bolts to spin.

Can you not get a ring spanner between the heat shield and the bolt?
It was tight but I managed just this earlier today.

Perfect, thankyou for the comprehensive information.
Hi TC, I will give it another go, but the screw heads are literally blobs of rust. I have ordered a new heatshield, rubbers and all so it will be complete change of equipment. At 63 my days of working under cars has long gone, so if it is a no go, it will be a trip down to the exhaust centre.
I will post some photos at a later date as per your request, as I know your love of Spain from previous posts!
Again guys many thanks for the contribution.
