CVT Issue?

CVT Issue? was created by terreneuve

I have a 2001 Steptronic that the previous owner had a garage rebuild the transmission 1000 miles ago(but 3 years).

I am getting a noise that sounds like 2 clicks when I lift off the accelerator. Transmission is working fine in both auto mode and manual mode.
Only issue is when car is in reverse it slightly hesitates.

I have downloaded error codes and reset the MIL to see if they return.

I am thinking an internal fault but the codes have me thinking a electrical issue(or both).

The 2 clicks could be a worn CV joint but I have my doubts and need to get the car on a lift to investigate further.

Anyone with a Steptronic had this clicking noise before?

Cheers

John

I am no expert on the CVT (no experience or knowledge what so ever) but how good is the oil?

I don't recall experiencing anything like that when I had one. You may have seen these topics. But I'll link them up again for interest.
