Hi guys,
Have a little problem with my 2002 160 TF.
Took it out a week ago and drove it for a few hours. Put the windows down and parked it in my garage again. Once in the garage, I disconnected the battery (with windows down). A week later, I reconnect the battery, everything works fine but the windows are dead and won't come up. Fuses are ok.
Any ideas?

The windows are on different fuses IIRC.
It might be a case of getting the multimeter out.

Does the car start ok? May have lost sync with the immobiliser. Try locking and unlocking the car several times.
Failing that, it could be the relay, switch or window regulator.....or broken wire in the door.
Switch is easily checked by swapping them over.
The regulators have a tendency to fail after a period of time, due to cheap plastic gears. I have had to replace several over the years as a TF owner.
Good luck with the fault finding

Hi guys, I have an update on the situation. So I found out that the engine bay fan wasn't working either by doing the test (removing socket from engine bay temp sensor). Checked the fuse box and found the fuse for the fan blown. Replaced it and windows started working. However, the moment I tested the fan gain, the fuse blew. Any ideas what could be causing this? Short circuited fan? problem with wiring? Is this a common problem?

That's an odd fault. Will the fan spin by hand or has it seized?
The other thing to check with any odd electrical fault is to examine the boot hinge loom for damage!

I have had an engine bay fan seize up, but it didnt blow a fuse!
Best check is to disconnect the connector to the fan (near the fan and difficult to reach) and try the test again. If the fuse doesn't blow, then definitely a faulty fan.
