Coolant in threads

Hello,
I notice when I take my expansion cap off to do weekly checks that there is always some coolant in the threads on the bottle that the cap screws into. Is this a normal place for coolant to find its way into, or a sign maybe my cap isn't working properly and it is escaping?
Regards
John

Sounds like the cap is dodgy to me.

Yeah, sounds like the cap seal is worn, or there is a defect in the top of the expansion tank filler neck.

Replaced the cap witu new one today. However level had gone up a bit back to about where it was originally?! Could using the heater vs not have made the level tiny bit different. Or maybe it wad hiding on the roof of my expansion tank 😂

It will be worth doing a quick 3 point bleed to make sure there are no air pockets in there.
