Like a number of people on here I've pulled the refurbished rear brake callipers out & put them on for the up coming MOT. Is there a rule of thumb method of adjusting them or do I sustain more injuries in attempt to persuade this old & racked body into a position where I can squint up to see where my feeler gauge has gone. It would be easier to get it over the pit, however I can get into the pit, getting out is another story. It's an ungainly struggle & as I generally leave my tools just out of reach I can spend a lot of time flailing about. Am I getting too old for this? mike.

I thought it was just me! EVERY time I get under the car to do something I ALWAYS find that at least one tool is just out of reach.

Anyone got a solution to this frustration?

My kids loved helping me work on cars when they were young. Things taught sink in as life skills, which explains why our daughter, now a Doctor, can still explain valve overlap to junior Doctors who think they know about engines and cars and my son could start a reluctant engine, then set the valve clearances of the ropey old Fiesta of the pretty gal in the flat below. Now our daughter in law..... With an Audi TT nowadays. Excusable, as she is a gal...
