Spamming spam spam

its an eternal problem. I dont moderate on any forums now, but when I did it was pretty much a full time challenge. As fast as you killed off one account three more spring up. On one site we set auto moderate on anyone with less than a dozen posts... It didn't lower our workload much, pissed off people who genuinely needed support quickly, and just meant that the spammers chatted on random topics until they came off auto moderate. Or just tried brute force password cracking against existing users for acc hijacking.

I suppose some kind of questioning at sign up might weed a few out eg:

1) what are the first six letters of your VIN?
2) what do you know about coffee?

I hate these tosses with a vengeance. In Johnny-World, the offenders would be apprehended, suspended via their nutsack with fish hooks, sprayed with petrol and then ignited.
Some may say harsh, but it would prevent reoffending...

I don't know how much power a moderater has..but how about automatically deleting a post that mentions coffee...yes that knackers anyone...even if you have just spilt coffee on yer seats and want to know the best way of getting it off...and even if you have just broken down outside Costa. ..don't want to know about coffee....it's a boring subject posted by idiots that don't pay there way....you can generally tell them apart from other users by the shite names they have.

A few hours ago I scanned the tbar and came across that bit that tells you who the latest member is.....it was lorakeysoroo704...I thought come on you have got to be one of those crap coffee spammers with a name like that...I was right there back....drove through Hatton today passed the nestle coffee factory...didn't stop..coffee don't interest me....why can't we have carling spammers or rita ora spammers

we should have a sweepstake.... person who correctly predicts next spammer wins
