Hi personally to help with the sound, the crackle, get a sports exhaust. K-maps will test everything out when the do the remap and will let you know if you have any valve issues or timing and airflow problems.
Make sure you have premium grade fuel in too.
Be prepared to be pleasantly surprised by the results!

I would definatly get a sports exhaust and a decent airfilter set up if you don't already have one.

Only improvement was to ensure airbox had the two inlet hoses which take air from "cooler" parts af the engine bay.
Also no exhaust "improvements" made any positive difference to performance, only sound (though a very nice sound at that!)

The TF filter has good enough surface area to let the engine breathe pretty good.
I was looking at filters and in particular induction filters for the mod list a few years back.
What came up on the forums was that most people saw a drop in performance when changing to cone type filters. If fitting one, you would be best to get the type that is tailored for the TF or F with a feed from the air intake.
