Been running the tf a lot lately...up and down dale ..out and about..never missed a beat..actually I was thinking how responsive the engine was..last service I did it had 2 new coil packs and a set of spark plugs due to the fault code popping up po301 misfire cyl 1....changing the packs and plugs cleared the fault...........anyway driving around derbyshire today and the engine missed a beat now and again....didn't run nice at all......so popped in the garage tonight to take a peek...glad I did that mod on the engine cover screws...made it a lot quicker getting the cover off...anyway connected to obd and hello 301

Swapped the ht leads around and still 301 cyl 1 misfire. ....I then took out the coil packs changed them around connected ht leads back and hey presto no faults....I will replace the ht leads has a matter of course and just hope 301 doesn't come back to say hello.

perhaps you are approaching this wrong....

Look at what the numerologists have to say about the number 301

Number 301 Meaning

The numerology energy represented by the number 301 has a focus on building a secure foundation for the future.

It tends to be somewhat creative with the foundation it builds and maintains, but won't stray very far from methods that have worked for others.

The energy is also self-determined, optimistic, tolerant, methodic, and practical. It is comfortable with focusing on small details to get them right. It's resonance is imbued with conscientiousness and pragmatism.

There's a resonance of infinite potential and self-sufficiency.

The energy is reliable in its focus and its execution of tasks.

People with 301 in their numerology charts and organizations that exist within the 301 energy are likely to be affected by its resonance.

Whether 301 is the intrinsic number of a person's numerology chart, a location, an organization, a goal, or something else, the energy the number represents encourages paying attention to details and having a foundation for the future in mind.

Locations with the number 301 generally are a good fit for (as examples) construction of buildings and roads, organizing educational road trips, step-by-step planning for material sufficiency, and security. Location numbers can be determined by the building number, the number in the address, or the result of calculating the entire address.

Infinite potential
Self-determination
Pragmatism
Tolerance
Meanings of the number 301 are interpretations of the energy the number represents in relation to its numerology chart position, or in relation to the situation or circumstances where the number occurs.

The above list contains key words that each represent an aspect of the essence of the 301 energy vibration. Other key words would be conscientiousness, optimism, inspiration, teamwork, comprehensiveness, method, and self-sufficiency.

A person whose personality is calculated with an intrinsic number 301 tends to present themself as someone who is reliable, steady, and gets the job done.

A person whose destiny is calculated with an intrinsic number 301 tends to be both pragmatic and creative, conscientious, optimistic, and focused on building a secure future.

With the number 301 pertaining to something in the environment, interpret the situation as if it included an idea related to creativity, security, method, practicality, or potential.

See the article Numerology Number Meanings for an introduction to the essence of the energies that numbers represent, and for deriving meanings for individual numbers depending on what the number pertains to or is associated with.

Im not a believer in such rubbish, but many do, and would suggest you should look on 301 as a blessing, a character building friend who comes to visit and help you be more pragmatic...

:-?

You know, I'm almost tempted to code up a numerolgy extension for ELM fault code readers... Its probably equally as helpful as most of the codes you get back ;)

Somewhat!

Im really liking my idea of numerology inspired fault code reader... It wiuld as you note need to give shorter, more pithy answers.... perhaps in the form of a Haiku....

I apologise that my cultural diversions and attempt at humour have proven so taxing. I shall in future restrain my ramblings :coat:

So today with car polished and the sun beaming down...roof down and headed out to leek staffordshire. ..the tf began to misfire now and again...so stopped for a morning pint in leek....sod the coffee gone right off it...made a phone call to motor factors. ..after collecting some new ht leads from them I headed home to fit the leads..has I pulled the ht lead from number 1....this happend.

The end pulled off....so on went the new leads

And with everything put back in its place I set off for a short test drive to wedgewood.

This time the engine was more responsive and didn't miss a beat.

Job done Mr MGTFBLUESTREAK . You've earned yourself another drink .
My better half and I have been for a little run out over Sutton Bank to Helmsley in North Yorkshire and our TF is running well , which is always a little worrying if you know what I mean .

Yes nice country...I used to deliver engines to a guy who owned a ww2 Canadian airbase nr Thirsk. ...he told me tales of Sutton bank
How his vintage bus he rebuilt would successfully pull up it...are we talking of the same place.I rember now...he gave me directions to my next drop off.The route he gave me was over Sutton bank...I was in a transit pick up with a 4 wheel trailer on tow...I faintly remember a part of the bank with a small bend in it where the pick up began to wheels pin and bunny hop on its back wheels.
