Sunny Sunday evenings in summer are what the F and TF were invented for! Also being lucky enough to live on the doorstep of the Staffordshire Moorland and Derbyshire Dales, we often drop the roof and see where the road takes us.....
Ilam is always a good place to begin, small empty country roads, hill and dales and great scenery. Here overlooking the legendary Thorpe Cloud, at Dovedale, a favourite fishing spot of the legendary Sir Isaac Walton.
They even named a local hotel after him, and its a great spot to drop in for a quick refreshing shandy before continuing our journey..
Next its off out on route to Tissington, stopping for a quick photoshoot of Shadow on the entrance road to the Tissington estate, which you have to go through to get to the village.
Then in to Tissington itself. This is one of the nicest rural Derbyshire villages you could visit, normally bustling with walkers and sightseers during the weekend daytime, in the evenings it perfect TF cruising material...
This is Tissington Hall, early evening, so forgive the next photos, as the light was failing...
No visit to Tissington is complete without a run through the ford...this is the biggest, deepest and longest ford I have ever been through, fortunately with the extended dry spell, it was quite at its shallowest, but in winter time, I don't think I would attempt it!
Then onwards to Fenny Bentley near Ashbourne, feeling a bit peckish we turned in to the excellent Coach and Horses for a quick drink and a nice juicy rib eye steak!
Then back home to Alton, there is something wonderful about driving the country lanes at night with the roof down. Tranquility and the sound of a TT Mk.7 coupled to a remapped K series engine!
A perfect Sunday evening!

It's interesting how the run through the ford has lowered the profile of your car. I've always thought that our cars should be a little lower & wider, now I'm not so sure.
