Windscreen wiper - hesitates on single operation

My windscreen wipers operate normally on intermittent, or speeds 1 & 2. However if i flick the lever down for a single sweep, the wipers start to move, hesitate for about 1/2 second, then continue to wipe normally. They do this every time. i've had new relays fitted recently to the BCU, and they work normally in all other modes. Anyone else had this, and if so how did they solve it?

No experience of this, but my first thought is the switch/lever itself as the problem source.

Yep, I agree with David.
I had a similar issue with all speeds. A hesitation, then it would wipe. I purchased a new lever/switch unit, and all was back to normal

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like the switch then. I'll probably strip and try and repair first - not because i'm mean ( although i am Scottish) but i hate throwing away things which can be repaired, and it's probably just a dirty contact.
