coolant hose heat protection
I've read that its prudent to put heat protection on the coolant pipes close to the exhaust pipe, but I haven't seen it listed by any suppliers. Does anyone know where I can get suitable sleeving or wrap?

There should be a metal heat shield around the down pipes, is yours there?

Heatshield is in place, but it only extends just past the exhaust pipe flange, and the coolant pipe has failed at this location- I think it may have been rubbing on the heat shield, or at least has got hot at this location. Extra protection may have helped.

Mine has a 30cm tube of woven material over the coolant pipe in that area. I don't know whether it's original or aftermarket.

Thanks David, it looks as if mine has something similar, i wasn't sure if it was that or just the pipe having delaminated. i'll have a closer look when i get it off.
