Volumetric Sensor for MGF
I have a problem with my MGF car alarm which frequently sounds when the ambient temperature is high - like now (spanish summer time)!!
I believe that the volumetric sensor is faulty.
I note that when replacing the microwave sensor on MGFs prior to VIN WD030082 (1998), a link harness YMQ103410 must also be fitted.
My MGF VIN is SARRDWBTCAD022706 (1997 MODEL)
I opened the T-bar from my MGF and removed the fitted volumetric sensor. No obvious link harness.
It is a genuine ROVER part (number 5811-002-9710-00020) and has a blue multi-pin connection. See attached photos.
Frequency band: 2.446 - 2.454 GHz.
It was manufactured by GEC Plessey Semiconductors in the UK.
Does anybody know where I can source a replacement sensor?

Try MGFnTFbitz - a google search will find them. They stock everything F and TF and will post worldwide.

You can isolate the volumetric sensor by locking the car with the key rather than the fob.

Thanks - but I prefer not to wear out my door lock barrel. Now that I have disconnected the sensor, I can use the fob again!
