The TF has a shorter lower gear cable than the F, does this give it a quicker gear change?

Many thanks

James

Yep. Except I believe it's actually the mk2F where they first introduced the different gear cable arrangement, so only the mk1 F has the longer sloppier gearchange.

Thanks David.

The components are listed for either MGF or TF so I'm not sure.

As I am having to change the short cable on my mk1 and it transpires the replacement I had in the shed is one from a TF.

I was contemplating getting the correct cable as it is the quickest solution but I have a TF gearbox in the garage so might swap the components over, or should I get a new bell crank from either Mike Satur or MGFmania, oh the dilemmas.

It's not just the cable and bell crank, the actual gear lever is shorter too.

The mk1 F is 17cms long, the pre-production TF is 15 cms.
