Usually an excellent starter, the F suddenly exhibited a reluctance to start.
Occasionally the starter motor would spin the engine but not fire up. Then after a few attempts it would fire up as normal.
Initially it seemed to occur when the engine was warm but not fully up to temperature.
There were no faults showing on Torque, but I suspected an engine coolant sensor problem, so I ordered a new one and fitted it. .
Nope!
As I was banging my head on the steering wheel, I noticed on Torque that there was no reading from the throttle position sensor when it wouldn't start.
Ahh!
Took the sensor off(2 scews) and poked it and suddenly it was reading 3.9%. Replaced it and the car fired up!
So I ordered and fitted a new TPS and problem solved!

Nice work. With a little thought most jobs on our cars are do-able!

I like easy fixes like that, shame my VVC never gives them.
