I have mix of tyres on my 1997 F 205 15 rear 185.15 front. I have found the 205 availability lacking in choice. My local tyre shop can't get Toyos in 205, saying 205 55 15 is not a popular size. It appears there is plenty of choice in 195 (inc. Toyos), which begs the question of what about 195 on each corner. Would this adversely affect the cars handling/safety?

Hmmm, the recommended tyre size is 205/50/15, I think you'll find plenty of tyres in that size.

I was going to fit Toyo Proxies T1R but according to my local tyre shop they no longer do them in 205 55 15. Everything you read about MGF/TF tyre choice is confusing. Are the F & TF really susceptible to tyre choice? Is it a case of pot luck & pay your money and take a chance?

Why do you still want them in 205/55/15 ? As just sa id 205/50/15 is the right size...

205 55 15 is what's on the rear. Just looked in the hand book and yes it says 205 50 15. That makes it clearer now.

Well, hope it solves the issue. Good luck. Make sure you get the xl spec tyres (stronger sidewalls) at least for the rear tyres.

Thanks James,
I'd seen them on their site. Probably get them there.
