Near side wiper stopped working (TF)

Hi, I was driving in the rain and one of my wipers stopped working. The drivers side on still works thankfully. Any idea what could have happened and how to fix? 
I can hear a clunk noise each time the working wiper ends it’s movement. 
(couldn’t find a topic on this - apologies if it’s already been asked)

It must be the wiper mechanism that has failed. There is a ball and socket joint below each wiper shaft that can come apart with wear over time. They can be popped back in, but need a spring clip fitted which will stop the ball slipping out again.  Should find the clips on ebay.
temporary fix can be achieved with a couple of zip ties.

Mike Satur do an uprated wiper mechanism.
