Rear suspension

I wonder if anyone can shed some light on some confusion I seem to be wrestling with. I have replaced my rear suspension units as they were in a series of pictures I took before breaking them down. whilst reading the workshop manual I read locate tag in front hole of turret(see txt) also a drawing backs this up( pic1) .
This is how mine were before:
 
I also had a look at the how-to where cjj removed subframe and gearbox and seemed to be also located as I had.
Does it matter if so who would be correct?

I raised this on the forum a few years ago as there is conflicting advice here, was advised to go the cjj route. Have no problems to date.
