Rain Water Leaking Into The Footwells
My 2002 MGF TF has started letting rain water into both footwells after heavy rain fall.
I can't find any leaks anywhere.....can anyone help.
It certainly is not the toof!
Many Thanks

could be the heating pipes, water may come in through the snorkel located under the passenger side wipers, under the bonnet.
Seals around the doors / windows could be another option.

Odds are it's the seal on the air inlet snorkel - the foam gasket becomes compressed with age and fails. Water then runs down the front of the footwell. I solved by rebedding the snorkel with a non-setting mastic.

Any chance of a photo of the gasket area that fails?

Here's an image from another thread. You get at it by removing the plastic cover under the bonnet which covers the brake cylinder. This is what I used to seal it.https://www.everbuild.co.uk/product/115-gp-building-mastic/

Cheers Rob.
I'll ask the mechanic to look he has it for a service soon.
Deffinately not windows/doors I've sealed those before.
Strange how its just started again after it's been fine for a year or more.
Thanks
Richard.
