Smelly at Start Up
Hi all,
would anyone like to offer a suggestion re-MGTF with petrol smell at start up, like unburned fuel
No OBD codes or EML displayed
could this be a charcoal canister issue ?
regards
Mike

Worth checking the canister connections, but also could be the fuel filler cap seal passing vapour. Also check the cap is on the right way up. Check the fuel pump access panel behind the passenger's head.

thanks David for your input-I will check the canister connections .
tried pressing the filler cap in and get a smell which I think shows that the fuel system is pressurised.
its not in the cabin only when the car is first started up
