Re:Letting the air out.
My F is stuffy with the hood up. I have seen the mod to get more cold air into the cabin but where does it leave, assuming the hood is up and decently weather tight? I can find no references to the outlet vents. Are any fitted or is it something that MGR didn't get around to?

The air flow in an MG is closely related to the early Land Rover where you increase the flow by opening the front flaps & the air escapes through the gaps, however as the vehicle ages the exit routes become less efficient due to the build up of moss. On my F excess air escapes through the gaps just in front of the hood hinge; the canvas can flap at certain speeds making a rather endearing farting noise.

There are two clips above the windscreen, near the sun visors.
When unlatched, they can be pulled backwards, and the whole rail moved to a position behind the driver.
I find this increases airflow and reduces the "stuffiness" in the cabin quite significantly. :bust: :slapme:

Yeah, right. The occasional advantage of a folding roof doesn't count for much if the car is uncomfortable at all other times. I had no such problems with my last MG, (most of a GAN1 midget,) as the floor provided enough ventilation at all times.

On my MGF, the air exits between the canvas and bodywork just behind the doors - I can see daylight through there.
The reason it gets so stuffy is that there is precious little insulation value in the canvas top compared to a metal roof with headliner.

I think it gets stuffy for other reasons. Firstly because there is insufficient air extraction and secondly the cabin volume is very small, a quarter of that of a smallish hatchback. So far, nobody has been able to confirm the location of any air outlet vents.
