Alarm System - fault.
Hi, Newbie here. First post. Just bought a sweet little (or that's how I think of it al the moment, lol) MGF. Goes nicely but I opened the boot earlier this week without disabling the alarm and the horns sounded. Now the alarm lets me into the car, but the engine is immobilised. Any ideas guys?

Local little gge just had its portable computer on it. There are no codes and he reckons it's not the alarm. :nonod:

:welcome2: You should be able to open the boot with the key without the alarm sounding.
The usual fault is broken wires in the loom on the boot hinge. You will need to open out the loom and check the wires.

What are symptoms of engine being immobilized?
Normally the car beeps when you turn key in ignition if it is immobilized..
If it does this, try pressing unlock button while it is beeping. Should release the immobilizer.
