MG TF clutch master cylinder
Help!
I’m trying to refit the master cylinder, which I should never have taken off in the place, but that’s another story.
How do I get the plunger pin back in?
I’ve tried from the top and it’s too small a hole and just too fiddly.
I’ve tried from inside the car but I need to be a contortionist, which I’m not.
Have I missed something?
Do I have to disconnect the pedal, or just try harder?
Many thanks
Bob

I assume you have fixed this by now, but here is my comment.
I replaced my clutch master cylinder during the week. Probably the easiest job to do on these cars, but you need to be a contortionist to refit the pin connecting the rod to the pedal.
Then you need to remove the engine cover to access the slave cylinder to bleed the system. Now I wish I had fitted a bleed extension hose (I think from mgtandtfbits) when I had the engine out.
Then it takes ages to get all the air out. I used both a pressure bleed at the master end and a vacuum at the slave, and it still took a lot of effort to eliminate the final bubbles.
